ISP Internships

Team reporting in the field

ISP interns spend a week with veteran reporters and a camera crew as they film a series of interviews, then spend six weeks working remotely on a single story. Working as a team under the guidance of ISP advisers, they conduct research, interview experts, and discuss their findings in story meetings.

This year, our interns are producing "The Divide," a look at how Interstate 10, America's only coast-to-coast highway, has helped build some communities and destroy others. We're also working on "Garbage Science," a study of how racial notions with no basis in science have influenced the development of current medical tools and practices.
